Injectable anti-ageing treatments such as Botox® are a quick and convenient way to smooth out lines around the forehead, frown, mouth and eye areas, without any need for surgery. There are other regions that can also be treated, which can be discussed at your pre procedure consultation.
Anti-wrinkle injections such as Botulinum Toxin® (Botox) are a non-surgical cosmetic procedure, which help to reduce and prevent unwanted facial wrinkles. This is achieved by administering a very small dose of muscle relaxant protein via a fine needle just under the skin and commonly used to target forehead and frown lines, crow’s feet, gummy smile and bunny lines, as well as for jawline slimming.
When Botox® is injected, it blocks signals from the nerve endings to the muscle, therefore reducing or stopping contraction. This temporary relaxation method means that the skin no longer creases, making wrinkles fade or disappear altogether.
Once Botox® is injected, it remains in the body for around 48 hours and during this time, trims the receptors of any muscles that have been injected. These receptors (which receive messages from the brain telling the muscle to move gradually) grow back over a period of several months and when relaxed, the skin heals and lines soften.
Performed by our medical experts, impacts are subtle and a natural improvement made. However, results are not immediate and it usually takes 2 to 5 days until you start to notice the effect - which is at its best post 2 weeks. Movement usually starts to reappear after approximately 8 weeks and you can opt for a repeat treatment from week 12.
A thorough pre-procedure consultation will be carried out to ascertain your goals and the look you want to achieve, as we offer several injectable products, which include Juvéderm® and Botox® and can help you to decide which one is right for your skin type and concerns.
Often, a combination of Botox® and dermal filler can offer optimum results, as pictured in the before and after above.

The procedure takes around 30 minutes. During the process, you will be asked to raise your eyebrows, frown and squint to mark out the unwanted lines on your face. Using a very fine needles, a small amount of muscle relaxant is injected into the target muscles. The treatment site may sting for a couple of seconds and normal activities can be resumed immediately after. It takes 2-3 days for Botox® injections to begin working and up to 14 days to see the full results.
Botox® is most effective where lines are formed from muscle contractions alone, pausing the underlying movement so that the skin doesn’t crease. Botox® therefore works very well around the upper face, where wrinkles are deepened by smiling and frowning (e.g. laughter lines). Botox® can also be used to treat forehead lines, vertical neck bands, grooves above the upper lip and gummy smile.
The effects of muscle relaxants are not permanent and last up to 3 - 4 months, however, this may be for a longer or shorter period depending on the individual. After this time, muscle activity will resume and retreatment is required.
